Parting the Red Sea (information and activities from Sermon4kids)

We had something amazing to see today. This was the Pepper & water trick.

Our lesson today though is far more amazing than this little trick. It is considered the most spectacular event in the entire Bible. We recapped on the last lesson about the 10 plagues etc.

Story "When God led His people put of Egypt , He didn’t lead them on the easiest road. He took them through the desert to the Red Sea. God led them by day with a big cloud and He led them by night with a pillar of fire. The cloud helped to shade them from the hot desert sun and the pillar of fire kept them warm at night. God took careof His people.

Meanwhile back in Egypt, when the King realised the Isrealites had gone he changed his mind and decided he wanted them back again as slaves. He took his best men ansd chariots and started chasing them.

As you can imagine when the Isrealites saw the Egyptian army coming after them; they were afraid but Moses told them “Do not be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord save you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord will fight for you. Just stay calm.

The Moses rasied his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. So the people of Isreal walked through the middle which was dry, with walls of water on each side. The Egyptians tried to follow them but God twisted the chariot wheels to slow them down and when the Isrealites reached the other sidethe Lord said to Moses, “Raise you hand over the sea again and when he did the waters returned and all the Egyptians  were drowned.

On seeing what had happened the people of Isreal were filled with awe and they put their faith in the Lord and Moses.

Prayer: Almighty Father, you love and care for us just as you did for your children in the day of Moses. What a mighty God we serve. We worship you and adore you. Amen
