Music returns to St. Georges

Music returns to St George’s!

We were looking forward to hosting a number of musical events at St George’s in 2020, the diary was quite full ……then Covid-19 arrived, a pandemic was declared and everything was cancelled. The first event affected was a brass band concert: Longridge Brass Band were due to play on 15th March 2020.

Towards the end of 2021 we were approached by Mr David Peacock, one of our parishioners, asking if St George’s could be a venue for Tyldesley Masonic Lodge to host a series of Brass Band concerts through the year as part of their fundraising campaign for the benefit of local charities.

A series of brass band concerts have now been scheduled through 2022 and we are delighted to announce that the inaugural event sees the long awaited return of Longridge Brass Band with their Musical Director Mr Mark Peacock. This is sure to be an entertaining evening with a varied programme of music.

This is the first event as part of our ‘Three years of Bicentennial Celebrations’ programme.
